Mondo Generator Party Launch - The Tote Sunday 5th September 5pm
A bunch of Melbourne's stoner rock bands have joined forces to give birth to Mondo Generator Party, a bimonthly spontaneous festival, which will descend upon unsuspecting suburban parks and carparks, abandoned warehouses and factories, beaches and other inappropriate places. In order to make these guerilla style festivals happen, they need a generator and generators cost money. The Tote is kindly hosting the launch party and generator fundraiser on Sunday 5th September, featuring Wicked City, My Left Boot, Molten Duke Ranch (after a three year hiatus), The New Quiet and Creatures of Silence.
Future festivals will only be advertised the day beforehand via txt and email, so make sure you're at the launch to secure your spot on the mailing list. First band will start at 5pm sharp. $10 entry. |

Bardo Pond, Dope Stars Inc and many more.

Telecom (Album Launch)
+ Dave Graney and the Lurid Yellow Mist
+ Money For Rope +
BrainRust
|
Before Telstra there was Telecom. A time when you could actually find phone boxes. Usually vandalised and inoperable but they were still around. Telecom are not of that time. They are of the now. Their new album which they are launching at the Tote Saturday 11 is even a little bit of the future. If you can imagine Dinosaur Jr. as a Sonic Youth cover band, trying to play the music of The Pixies while fronted by Bruce Springsteen, you must have quite an imagination. TELECOM have quite an imagination too, but they harness it for the purposes of writing music, rather than dreaming up farcical super-groups that will never exist.
Supports for the night include Brain Rust and Dave Graney and the Lurid Yellow Mist

Also on the bill Drunk Mums will be giving you a dose of infectious catchy bluesy rockin poppin lockin tunes. Currently working on a debut release these young lads are destined for big things.Tag team duo The Eyeball Kicks will be bringin there White Stripes influenced rock and opening the night will be gutter trash tweakers Rapid Transit.

Songs + Love Of Diagrams + Zsa Zsa |
Before Jeff Burch relocates OS get down to the Tote to catch the awesome Songs. The Sydney based band make echo heavy drone pop that gives modern music the cold shoulder. Squeezing into the gap between pop, minimalism and no wave, the sound of Songs is deceptively simple, friendly and willfully careless. They simulate the best of the 'New' music: New York during the 70's and New Zealand in the 80's. Joining them are Melbourne’s own indie rock smashers Love of Diagrams and Zsa Zsa (featuring members of Songs, Fabulous Diamonds and Kes Band)
Supports for the night include Brain Rust and Dave Graney and the Lurid Yellow Mist
